Pretty Little Killers - Daleen Berry & Geoffrey C. Fuller: A Review

True Crime: The Murder of Skylar Neese

As a big true crime reader and listener, not a lot surprises me and not a lot of cases really torment me - but this did. I think this is maybe the third true crime I've read where I've had to take a break, have a breather - and at one point, even cry.

The way this case was put together, researched and shared, is truly remarkable - one of the hardest things in true crime is to have empathy for the perpetrators, while also sharing the nature of their crime(s) - and to show the TRUE character of the victim while not victim blaming or showing them in too harsh a light. Yet somehow this has been accomplished, while still being so very respectful of all involved, particularly the victim (Skylar Neese) and what she went through as well as her family, and her many friends too.

I've heard and read a lot about this case before, but I never felt like I did when reading this book. Definitely a must read for anyone interested in true crime. I highly recommend this and award it a solid five stars.

May Skylar Neese Rest In Peace.
