Dracula - Bram Stoker - The Young Collector's Illustrated Classics Edition: A Book Review

Adapted by Leigh Hope Wood & Illustrated by Ned Butterfield

This was very cleverly put together. I personally found the original version a bit tedious, as it tended to drone on a lot with no momentum. The way Leigh Wood has chosen sentences from the original version and strung them together so seamlessly, is very impressive. It actually reads like the original, without all the boring bits (it is literally a copy and paste of Bram Stoker's original publication).

Only the information that propels the story forward has been included. Definitely a great version for people new to the story, not only for the target audience (junior readers), but also for anyone newly introduced to the tale, or if you're wanting a quick 'reminder read'.

I only gave the original version 3-stars, but this adaptation is a solid 4-stars. Definitely one of my favourite adaptations.
